Modified Endoscopic-Assisted Approach for Removal of Ectopic Third Molar in the Maxillary Sinus

This case series describes an alternative approach for removing ectopically erupted tooth in the maxillary sinus using improved endoscopic known as modified endoscopic-assisted surgery (MESS). We reviewed medical charts and radiographs of patients who underwent surgical removal ectopic MESS. The technique consisted creating a bony window wall with pre-adapted microplate, which was repositioned after removed. For all included this study, there were no postoperative complications clinically radiographically. At time microplate removal, satisfactory bone regeneration observed around margins wall. MESS is effective that modifies integrates techniques conventional Caldwell-Luc procedure (CLP) functional (FESS) can be used to remove by avoiding risk sinus-related complications.
